Added 6 brand new slouchy hats to the shop! I've been crocheting my fingers off! Check 'em out:

More colors will be added over the next few weeks! And I'll be back to my regularly scheduled programming tomorrow!

Tiny boys and crochet times!

Man, the closer it gets to the 21st, the more my stress level drops, I swear. The end of school is very, very close and I am SO RELIEVED. It doesn't look as though I'm going to pass all three classes this quarter (the medical coding practicum is a DOOZY), but that's okay. I'm not feeling medical coding anymore, anyhow. We don't mesh well together. As long as my cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher (as of last quarter I was sitting at a 3.5), I won't be responsible for paying financial aid back, which is great news. I was stressing pretty hardcore about being in debt to the school and not being able to get financial aid again for next fall.

Jade is awesome. He's getting noticeably heavier, he's starting to vocalize and dance a lot more and he's just all around adorable <3 He's currently super into Yo Gabba Gabba and PB&J sammiches.

Finished the Twinkie Chan cookie scarf last night! Had to make do with a baby pink I had on hand for the pink swirly cookies, but that's okay. It turned out great! Hahaha, this picture cracks me up. Lookit Jade go.

Anyhow, I'm off to finish up some more school work while the boy slumbers. I'll be back later with Music Monday (fingers crossed!).

I'M STILL HERE, I SWEAR!

It has been forEVER! Just poking my head out to say I'm still here, I've totally been meaning to do some blogging, but I'm insanely behind on school and I've been feeling the winter blues pretty hard these last few weeks, but things are starting to look up. As you can tell, I've decided to finish off my classes, but I may not pursue a career in medical coding. I guess that will depend on whether or not I do well and finally grasp the concepts without banging my head on the desk and crying, heh. I do still plan to try something else, though, most likely graphic design if I can get enough financial aid for it. I'll be looking into that in the fall :D

Other than all that, everything's okay. I've been looking for a part-time or weekend job. Mom, Jade and I checked out the new Hobby Lobby that just opened in Everett a few days ago where I took advantage of a yarn sale and got some new crochet hooks. About a week ago, I finally ordered Twinkie Chan's book Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies, and I've been working on a few pieces of the cookie scarf every night! It's loads of fun and the components work up fast. I highly suggest you pick up her book if you're a crochet nerd. Lotsa stuff in there I'll be whipping up and giving away as gifts!

I can't get over how much the iced oatmeal cookies look like pentagrams, haha!
I'm stoked to say that I've sold 4 items from my Etsy shop in the last month! WOOOO! Btw, you can still get 10% off your order with the code BTTBLOG! Hoping to stock up some more yarn and start making infinity scarves or something. Also toyed with the idea of crocheted bows...

Anyhow, I'll try my hardest to write something in the coming weeks. Only 2 1/2 more weeks of school left! YAY!!!!!

Crochet favorites!

I just wanted to share with you guys a few of my favorite crochet patterns so far! Apologies for the crappy paparazzi shots, I'm not quite feeling like putting on a face today! Haha!

Floral cloche
I'm not sure why this site's pictures are all down :c But this is my go-to cloche hat. I've made three of these things so far, I'm pretty sure I could do them from memory by now! I've made one cream colored flower, but it's not pictured here. You can actually see my cream version with the flower in this post (and hey! At the top of my layout, too!)

Urban Revival slouchy hat
This one took me a while, something was off. I ended up having to do 24 shells instead of the 29 the pattern calls for. My tension was kinda all over the place, too :c It ended up really stiff, but I can tell this hat is really pretty once you get the hang of it. Gonna make a few more with some nicer/softer yarn.

Softee Chunky neckwarmer
This was loads of fun. I actually finished it in a few hours one night. Super pretty and warm, and it's asymmetrical, which is my favorite! I got the buttons from my Gramma's vintage stash!

I've finished a few other other projects, but they're xmas gifts, so I can't post them yet! Soon, though! I'll make sure and take photos before I give them away! There will be a buttload more projects coming, though, because my Gramma uncovered this HUGE yarn stash while overhauling one of her craft rooms and gave pretty much all of it to me! FOUR GARBAGE BAGS! Thanks, Gramma! <3

Any crochet fanatics have any super-awesome go-to patterns? PLEASE share! I'd love to add some new skills to my repertoire :D

More crochet-y goodness!

Oh man, what neglect! School hasn't been too rough, and Jade's been in great spirits, so all I can think of is that I haven't been feeling quite 100% lately. Not sure what's going on there. I've also been crocheting a fair amount since I've been kinda stuck to the couch. Check it out:

I LOVE making hats, I've already made three cloches for myself, a beanie for Terry and I'm still working on a beanie for Jade (with little crocheted horns!). Also started making granny squares for a blanket I'm working on!

Pretty stoked to see a bunch of bloggers I follow are picking up on crocheting, too! Excited to start buying up some books you guys have recommended so I can get started on Christmas gifts! Woo!

Bre!
