Life Lately!
So, I'm back. For the moment, haha!
I have this weird thing with this blog where I feel like I have to be uber consistent and only update according to my pre-set schedule that I invented like two years ago. I don't ever feel as if I can just pop in any day of the week to say "HAY WASSUP," even though this is MY blog. It's the weirdest thing. Anyhow, I need to break that habit, seeing as how only like two of my original five weekly features have even survived.
So, what's up with me lately? Well! I've done a couple freelance MUA jobs, one for a magazine ad my friend Rachell was shooting for a wedding planner/caterer, and one for my friend Gregory for a roller derby fashion shoot in Fiveonfive magazine! Super fun. Looking forward to getting my hands on some tearsheets from both of those projects!
I've also suddenly had a much-needed influx in design work. After I finished up Chev's website for her salon re-branding, I had a few people come forward for jobs. I did a partial redesign/product update for Soapy Bliss (highly recommend; her products are adorable!), and am still working on a site redesign for Coming Up Roses Vintage out of Snohomish!
Jade and I just applied for our passports a couple weeks ago, because my grandparents on my dad's side are taking us and my cousin and her son to Mexico in March! AHHHHHHH we are so freaking excited! Started doing a half-assed T25 routine two weeks ago in hopes of losing a few inches before vacation, but I've been really slackin' on that :/
We got a cat! His name is George, and he's four years old. We adopted him from the Everett Animal Shelter and he is a perfect fit for our family. He's totally chill and mostly flops around (unless Jade is pestering him), but he's still totally playful, too, which is SO ADORABLE!
I've got a shoot lined up with Anacani Carrera soon, which is SO FREAKING AWESOME because I've been following her work via our mutual friend Lacie for YEARS. Still tossing around concepts, but I know she's gonna nail the eff out of whatever we come up with. Look at this killer shoot she just did with Haley!
Lastly, I was finally able to enroll in health insurance and it will be active as of February 1st. You'd best believe I'm signing up for the local Potential Fresh Meat derby league immediately after!
I think that brings us up to date. I may not be the greatest at keeping this blog lately, but I'm usually pretty active on Instagram and Twitter, if you wanna follow me there :)

Things & Stuff...
Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since I've posted...
I'm finally starting to come to grips with the fact that I'm going through some shit, internally. It took a bad dream Saturday night (the first dream I'd had in weeks) about my Grandma Judy literally telling me, "You're depressed, honey," and giving me a huge hug while I cried. Ugh. I can't even figure it out for myself? Lol.
As some of you know, I started taking a generic of Celexa for major depression and anxiety almost a year ago, with a TON of success. About ten months later, and 30 mg more per day, it's starting to fail me. I knew this would happen. I didn't expect this stuff to change my life forever, but it's easy to fall into that kind of thinking when it's worked so well for so long. I started to notice extreme fatigue (more than usual, for those of you who know me IRL), my trichotillomania is out of control and I'm drinking about 5 out of every 7 nights. I eat past the point of being full. My housecleaning is falling behind. I'm normally super obsessive about that. These are all deadringers for depression and anxiety for me. The weirdest part? I don't feel depressed. I know it's the medication, but I am so afraid to come off of it. I missed a few days last month due to my refills running out and my regular nurse practitioner moving away. The withdrawal symptoms were terrifying, to say the least.
I know I need to go back to counseling. It just started to get so expensive, because I really feel that I need it at least twice monthly to get any kind of result. So I'm in a pickle. Ughhhh. I don't want to go crazy, but I don't want to run us into debt, either. I feel pretty lost at the moment :c
So yeah, that's where I'm at right now. Haven't been doing too much in the way of shoe-scouting or anything like that. Just kinda trying to hold it together.
I don't wanna be a downer, either, I just don't want to leave everybody hanging. I love you guys, and I hope you stick around for when stuff gets better <3

This has nothing to do with anything, but Terry and I can't stop laughing about it.
GAHHHH IT HAS BEEN FOREVER SINCE I'VE DONE ONE OF THESE. For that I am sorry. For some reason just thinking about doing them fills me with contempt, but as soon as I actually start typing, they go really fast and are a lot of fun. Huh? So I'm just gonna try to FORCE myself to continue with them. Ha!
We've missed a few weeks, but luckily you guys haven't missed out on much. Except for my badass DIY punkrock jacket. Oooooo that was awesome. Okay. I had this acid wash denim jacket that a friend gave me hanging in my closet for forever. Its presence was starting to get to me, but before it went in the donation box, I decided it could totally be revived. I got a bunch of turquoise fiber-reactive dye from Chev (who makes rad lace bibs with it!), and ordered a couple baggies of studs from studsandspikes.com because I couldn't decide which ones I'd want to use. I finally went with the English Punk 77 studs because I wanted something spike-esque, but I have a kid, so I didn't want to maim him with my hugs. I'm sure you can understand :P But here's what I came up with! I love it SO HARD and it gets so many freaking compliments!
We took in Terry's old dog Sidney for a while, before deciding it wasn't going to work out because of Terry's allergies :c He only went back to Terry's parents' house, but I miss snuggling with him a lot. WAHHHHH!
Been building up a badass makeup kit (my old one was lost in the move :c) for a wedding I get to do makeup for next month! I'm so excited! Practice run is tomorrow afternoon!
Jade was cute...
Last Saturday I went to my dear friend Chelsey's bachelorette party, which was SUCH A BLAST. Had brunch at her bridesmaid's house, then we rented a boat on Lake Union! GAHHHH such awesome times, listening to terrible early '00s pop and drinking beer. Then I met up with Terry and Jade at Terry's cousin Angela's wedding in Mountlake Terrace, which was beautiful. Awesome and EXHAUSTING weekend.
Alright! That's all I've got in me for this week :D See you guys next week! Have an awesome weekend! <3

Farewell, Google Reader!
Some of you may have heard, and some of you may not, but Google will be shutting down Google Reader soon, meaning that if you follow this blog and any of your other favorites via Reader, you'll need to switch to something else, and soon! The shutdown is happening July 1st, so you've still got time!
Bloglovin' is my choice for the switch. A great tutorial on how to import blogs from Google Reader to Bloglovin' can be found here! I will, however, be leaving my Google Friend Connect widget up because I keep reading conflicting things about whether or not that will be going by the wayside, as well. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it :D
To everyone who has already switched over, thank you! If you have yet to, I'd love to keep yapping at you all about shoes for a while longer, so definitely consider checking it out!
Thanks, love you guys!

PEWPEW! Photo by Rachell of No Mark At All <3
This week was painfully uneventful, but this weekend I'm having the wonderful Chivahn fix my unruly roots and then on Sunday we're taking Jade to the zoo with my dad and stepmom, FINALLY. We've wanted to take him for forever, but stuff always got in the way. I think he's gonna be more aware of his surroundings now, though. He'll appreciate all the animals a lot more :3
Also, Terry starts his new job at Comcast on Monday! AHHHHHH SO EXCITED FOR HIM!!! It's insane how much opportunity a driver's license can open up for you!

Until next week!

HERE IT IS! The final edit from the Fuchsia Phoenix shoot last month!!! <3 Can't even believe this is me! (Photo by JLD Imagery)
Was looking forward to hanging out with Sarah and Joey one last time and ALSO receiving some much-needed fundage today. Are those things going to happen? Nope :c Also, yesterday in Mount Vernon, a bridge on I-5 collapsed after a oversized truck hit it. AND my mom blew a tire on the freeway on the way to come pick up Jade D: Just... gnarliness all around. Some friends are also going through some bad stuff. No good!
I don't mean to make this whole post a bitchfest, but man!
Tuesday night was dive bar time with Sarah and Joey, where I somehow got drunk enough to be talked into doing karaoke. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. Well, my friend Mike and I got wasted one time and tried to do "Killer Queen" by Queen together, but I don't count that because we didn't even know the lyrics. Not even joking.
Aaaaaand last night was the final shindig with Sarah and Joey (well, until they visit). Had a couple beers with some other friends in their backyard and discussed the mechanics of me being stuffed into a box in their U-Haul for two days. Haha. Gonna miss those guys soooo, sooo much :c
