It has been forEVER! Just poking my head out to say I'm still here, I've totally been meaning to do some blogging, but I'm insanely behind on school and I've been feeling the winter blues pretty hard these last few weeks, but things are starting to look up. As you can tell, I've decided to finish off my classes, but I may not pursue a career in medical coding. I guess that will depend on whether or not I do well and finally grasp the concepts without banging my head on the desk and crying, heh. I do still plan to try something else, though, most likely graphic design if I can get enough financial aid for it. I'll be looking into that in the fall :D

Other than all that, everything's okay. I've been looking for a part-time or weekend job. Mom, Jade and I checked out the new Hobby Lobby that just opened in Everett a few days ago where I took advantage of a yarn sale and got some new crochet hooks. About a week ago, I finally ordered Twinkie Chan's book Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies, and I've been working on a few pieces of the cookie scarf every night! It's loads of fun and the components work up fast. I highly suggest you pick up her book if you're a crochet nerd. Lotsa stuff in there I'll be whipping up and giving away as gifts!

I can't get over how much the iced oatmeal cookies look like pentagrams, haha!
I'm stoked to say that I've sold 4 items from my Etsy shop in the last month! WOOOO! Btw, you can still get 10% off your order with the code BTTBLOG! Hoping to stock up some more yarn and start making infinity scarves or something. Also toyed with the idea of crocheted bows...

Anyhow, I'll try my hardest to write something in the coming weeks. Only 2 1/2 more weeks of school left! YAY!!!!!

Welp, I did it. I got a tattoo of a shoe that I will never afford in my lifetime, from the Christian Dior Fall 2004 Haute Couture collection. I know, I am insane XD

Lyric from the Refused song "New Noise".

Shoes in question on Gwen Stefani :D
Aaaand again.

So in love with it!!! This was done by the amazing Jerm at Laughing Buddha on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Check 'em out!

Bre's Week in Links 2-17-12

"Musically Oblivious 8th Grader" IS THE BEST MEME EVER.

SAME SEX MARRIAGE IS LEGAL IN WASHINGTON!!! Conservatives are attempting to get a referendum onto November's ballot so we'll ultimately have to vote for or against it, but here's hoping it doesn't go that far. I am THRILLED.

This also made my day. Christian group apologizes at Chicago Pride Parade (via Kaelah).

World's largest crochet sculpure and crochetdermy!!! AHHH, NEAT!

Pictures of vintage photos in their present-day locations.

Beachy waves! Just started doing this pretty much daily, it looks soooo neat with my new ombre ends!

Scratch-off maps! This is such a cool idea, I want one immediately!

Cake batter milkshakes?! Sold!

90s hair appreciation. Marie is hilarious, guys.

Gala and Nubby visit Amy in LA. The little story about Tila Tequila is one of the most lol-worthy I've read lately.

This board on Pinterest makes me (literally) so MAD that I'm sitting on my butt on the computer right now. I wish I had the money to travel!

Still undecided about whether or not I'll be continuing with school :/ I need to talk with my advisor. But! In other news, I'm totally going to get tattooed by our buddy Jerm in Seattle this Saturday and I am SO EFFING EXCITED. I haven't had a tattoo done in a year. It's so gorgeous and I've been staring longingly at my printed mock-up for months. I'm so stoked that it's actually happening! Not sure if I'll have enough to get it completely finished, but the majority of it will be done (also depends on my pain threshold, I've heard mixed stories about how badly it hurts in the area I'm getting it in and there's a fair amount of detail). I can't wait to share with you guys, AHHHHH!!!

Until next time!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Still alive, but barely. Struggling with school to the point where I'm seriously considering dropping it altogether, trying to find a part time/weekend job, and just really feeling kinda bleh. Hopefully everything starts to pick up soon, I'm starting to feel kinda crazy! I'm looking forward to finally starting on a tattoo idea hopefully this weekend, and Terry has a 4-day weekend coming up that I am THRILLED about. We don't get enough time together anymore :/

GAHHHH. Okay, I'm gonna quit bumming everyone out 'cause I'm sure nobody wants to hear me get all mopey!

Until next time (I'm totally making a point to do a Bre's Week in Links on Friday!)

So this last weekend I was finally able to get away for a moment to have my bestest friend Chivahn fix my lifeless, graying hair (oh, the stress as of late...). I usually have her do something a tad crazy, last time we did a bob with tiny turquoise bangs, but this time I needed something a bit more low-key. I was loving the ombre trend I'd seen among a few celebs (plus the idea of a highlight-esque effect that didn't need touching up REALLY appealed to me), so we did a super toned-down version and tried some loose curls for shits and giggles:

Dork :P
I love it sooooo much. My self esteem really needed a boost, and this definitely did it! If you're in the greater Seattle area, I HIGHLY recommend you go see her, she's the master! Check her out: Fuchsia Phoenix Hair Design (and hey! You may remember that I did the site design!)

Music Monday #16 - Sleigh Bells

Again with the Sleigh Bells. What can I say? Once I find something new that I like, I play the bejesus out of it!
